Out-of-hospital birth

An informed choice

„ Pour changer le monde, nous devons d’abord changer la façon dont les enfants naissent“

Barbara Katz Rothman

Since December 2021, together with my colleagues Danielle and Marina, I have been practising  home birth and your birth at our LUNATA centre in Bertrange.

What we offer :

  • We listen carefully to your expectations,
your questions and address any potential problems

  •     Information based on current scientific data

  •     Continuity of care by sharing information between the professionals concerned

    Conditions childbirth outside hospital

For a home birth, the mother must

  • be in good health

  • have a physiological pregnancy

  • have a normal morphological ultrasound scan of the baby

  • have a baby in cephalic presentation

  • have a gestational age of more than 37 weeks.

If there is any risk, we will decide together whether a home birth is advisable.

During your labour, you will be attended by the midwife you know and who attended you during your pregnancy. A second midwife will be present during the birth.
The midwives will provide you with individual support, enabling you to detect any pathological signs and organise a transfer to hospital in good time.

In the event of an emergency, the midwife has the skills required to stabilise the condition of the mother or newborn and has emergency equipment and medicines at her disposal.

For more information, please contact me and we'll discuss your options.
